I retired at 63 after I lost my mum. It’s the best thing I ever did. I try and cycle most days, particularly from Leeds to York and back and a couple of times round the Knavesmire. So true about getting rid of all the stuff you just don’t need. Clear your head.

Yep! People are dying. I lost my best childhood friend 4 years ago to ALS. He was 52 years old. I lost my former chiropractor this summer to cancer. She was 53. I lost a classmate from high school 2 years ago, also to cancer. He was 54. Makes me think how I spend my time and with whom. Keep up the great work, Nick.

At 69 i am well down that slippery slope.
Re people working in the 70's, i was the second oldest person where i worked,
the oldest is now 75 and will be 76 next month, good luck to them if they continue
working any longer.
My parents passed over 20 years ago both only made 70, a stark reminder that you
never know how long you have left.
I intend to keep active as long as i can, but i am well aware that the light at the end
of the tunnel is getting closer.

Health can get better in your 70s! I am 73, just noticing some laugh lines, have started HIIT, lift heavy weights, and walk in nature a few times a week. Not that I couldn’t get something nasty tomorrow, but aches and pains aren’t inevitable. ❤ your videos! The only friend who has recently died developed an abnormally aggressive cancer and is in hospice. From being my running and walking partner a mere four months ago, to dying a truly awful death. Nothing is guaranteed, is it?

Retired at 60 in April. Small pension and we live in a van full time and love it. We answer to no one. I spent the last ten years of my career working in a hospice. I can tell you young people die too. I had many conversations with people who would never see retirement and people in their 20s and 30s. Live for now and you can't buy time

63 here as well, retired at 60. Walk lots, cycle when I can and do/buy things that give me pleasure. Very much more living life on my own terms.

Since I turned 60 I have qualified as a bicycle mechanic and just passed the Saving Lives at Sea (SLSGB) lifeguard course, which was physically demanding.
I cycle long distances off road and walk my dogs a few miles every day. I don’t know when the physical party is going to end, when it’s all going to crash but there’s no sign of it happening, I just carry on enjoying the moment like I’m in my thirties or forties.
I’ll just keep going and not think about it too much.

Buddha : Five Remembrances
I am of the nature to grow old. There is no way to escape growing old.
I am of the nature to have ill health. There is no way to escape having ill health.
I am of the nature to die. There is no way to escape death.
All that is dear to me and everyone I love are of the nature to change. There is no way to escape being separated from them.
My actions are my only true belongings. I cannot escape the consequences of my actions. My actions are the ground upon which I stand.

Interesting vlog! I'm 55. I think people in their 50s need to watch this. Life is short. You're supposed to enjoy it.

I guess I would say I'm lucky in the fact that at 61, I'm still working 4 days a week and have 2 young boys, 12 and 13. As a breadwinner and parent, I have much purpose in my life. I have concentrated on health in the last few years by cutting out alcohol, no smoking since 1986, and in recent months have gone totally plant based eating. My job cruisy and enjoyable as it is, requires physical lifting and plenty of walking. Once I retire in 3 to 4 years, I will take your advice and start weight training. We have bikes and love riding, so cardio is covered. Thanks for the continual great tips and preparing me for my eagerly awaiting retirement once I have pumped up my superannuation a bit more. Best wishes to you and all your viewers from Brisbane Queensland Australia 👍 🇦🇺

I've never been happier at 63! There's no way I'd want to be in my 30/40's with the state the world's in today!😜

This is a wake up call for me.
Not that I'mof the 60 plus age but ive seen many people pass who were only early 60s in my job .
Plus the decluttering is something that I need to do asap.
