Bruce Willis was recently diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia which is a less common type of dementia than Alzheimer's disease or vascular dementia. Here are some symptoms of frontotemporal dementia and when it's usually diagnosed. Leave any question about FTD in the comments and I'll record a detailed video on this dementia diagnosis.

It’s our mission to make dementia caregiving easier for families caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's disease, frontotemporal dementia, lewy body dementia, vascular dementia, or any other type of dementia. We do so by making free educational training videos like this so that anyone with an internet connection can access this information.

Thank you for your explanation! My husband passed away last June from complications of FTD. It is heartbreaking for family and loved ones. The patient doesn’t really know the situation because they are oblivious . All we could do was provide the structure and support that was needed. It was a long journey of almost 20 years. Your videos provided much support for me throughout his final years. Thank you!❤️

Hello and thank you for sharing. My husband suffered from Alzheimer's for 10 years. The last 2.5 years showed the most changes. The last 6 months almost no words; except he still recognized me, would kiss me good night and whisper very lightly "I love you". The most difficult part of his Alzheimer's was losing all expression. He had the most beautiful smile and I found that I missed that mostly. The last week I knew he was ready. He was 85 and his body shut down. RIP DPD❤️

My father has (Pick's disease) FTD.
It is so frustrating because even nursing staff in his long-term care facility still treat it like it's Alzheimer's. He presents very well some days, his memory is not that bad, but his reasoning, decision making abilities are bad. Also his anger and rages can leave us utterly speechless. I really hate FTD, it has stolen our dad from us.

Really kind of you it just shows your personal sensitivity to this issue and the struggles the individual has with this situation and the lives who help them cope
It’s very hard for all involved
So thank you…kind soul ❤

Thank you for sharing this, my dad has FTD and it's hard to explain why he doesn't have Alzheimer's.

I wonder if more diagnosis for different types of dementia will start occurring due to the 💉& covid affecting people’s blood systems in the brain & causing longer-term inflammation in the brain. I know both my husband & I were losing the names of everyday objects it was super scary. We are 49 & 50. I am doing better but still struggle a little & my husband has improved but but less than me. I hope scientists are taking this very seriously & doing proper studies.

Truly feeling with everyone trying to digest a hard diagnosis. Just want to add, that Alzheimers can start earlier, as in my husbands case in his mid fifties, which is not only a psychological pain for patient and family, but a financal drama. We are in year eight and the costs of the assisted living are higher then my income. This leaves behind impoverishment of a whole family.
Get insured as long as you can, and if you are German, never get married!

For anyone who's in the know. My mum will be 99 yrs old tomorrow. She is losing her words at times, waking up and hitting me sometimes, and when I bathe her or change her bedding, she's punching me, scratching me, drawing blood and verbally abusing me sometimes. Most of the time, she's perfectly lucid. She used to be a kind, gentle, loving soul. I don't recognize her sometimes. Her behavior can be deplorable. Does this sound like dementia? She has been in the hospital twice since 2019 for very serious surgeries. These experiences have added to her decline, I feel. I heard vitamin b1 helps. Is this true? She was diagnosed with b12 deficient anemia and is being treated. She's completely incontinent since her surgery 4 Mos ago. That doesn't bother me, the violence does. I looked in to getting her assessed and the section of the hospital that asseses for dementia and alzheimers has locked doors. I don't feel comfortable with this. Any advice would be appreciated❤

I'm panicking that I've got it, my psychologist says I haven't but I'm only 15 and I can't get excited about anything even though I've got lots of exciting things, and I might have inappropriate affect.

Please see the empirical evidence of Dr Mary Newport & hrr family's experience with dementia. I do not know of any evidence to verify her experience with treating her husband's dementia with the medium-chain fatty acids in coconut oil but it definitely worked for them.

As anyone tried giving good fats as a first treatment to help the brain? Coffee with coconut oil or mct oil butter and cream?, another thing ive worked with is avocado pudding with pea protein and its seems to be helpping. @Dr Natali
