Great to see GM and others joining the EV market. Competition is what the consumer need.

This is great. However, Hummer is a brand associated with gas guzzlers. And GM had the EV1 which was the innovator in California with a huge following of elite owners, mostly actors, directors, vineyard owners, and extremely green environmentalists. That same group bought Tesla, invested in TSLA stock, and well left GM behind. It's that same crowd that GM needs to win back, and the Hummer won't be enough.

model s was 85k 8 years ago with a 7500 tax credit. so 78k. and the bulk of the cost was a brand new ev with a crap ton of batteries, those batteries have fallen some 80% since so how on earth does this make sense in 2024 vs 2012? the answer is it doesnt, its laughably overpriced. needs about 30% haircut but then GM wouldn't get their 40-50% margin they need to stay viable somehow
