I grew up enjoying Star Trek in the 80s and 90s, partly because it was different from all other TV shows. It presented an optimistic possible future for humanity in space with advanced technology, clean and beautiful ships, cool gadgets, etc. This trailer is a grungy post apocalyptic dystopian hell in space. Don't you dare put Star Trek in the title.

That was awful, what century is that supposed to be set just seems like 2024. Have actors and directors forgotten that these shows/movies are about people hundreds of years after us. Who have been through Armageddon, first contact, formation of Star Fleet, interstellar wars and eventually peace of sorts in a utopia but nah we will all just act like we are in a LA club in 2024. Ok I do know this stems from the Mirror Universe but even still it should be nothing like now.

That isn't Star Trek. TNG was Star Trek. Voyager was Star Trek. DS9 was Star Trek. Uniforms, military drilled soldiers, morals, science and adventure was Star Trek. This here is modern Wokeness on Acid in Space. I'm sad that such a god-tier actress like Michelle Yeoh has to play in such low brow production. At least Strange New Worlds ain't complete garbage. Yet. And I can still re-watch the old series for...like the 9th time or so. It's so sad to see how they destroyed the 2 top franchises in the sci-fi genre, if you add Star Wars to Star Trek.

im actually shocked. i cant find the right words for the disappointment i feel right now. star trek is THE nerd franchise if there ever existed one. how can you fuck that up to this extend. this is nothing like star trek and the direction of the recent star trek spin offs are already horrible, but this... is pure insanity. how can so many people working on titles like these be ok with it? this is unbelievable on every level, i am really open minded to a lot of things, but this is outrageous and pathetic. no wonder no one i know gives a shit about paramount+. i guarantee you, that its just a matter of time until they will go offline. what a waste of space, literally.
