I Have to let you know that I been watching you religiously since I was a teenager and now I'm 33. And you are my TRUE IDOL. I watch alot of survivalist. But you are the one that started them All. And the best by far. You have lived 10 times more life than I will ever have the opportunity to live. I hope you appreciate your life as much as I appreciate watching it. There is so much I've done because of you. And know im only 1 of millions. Just want to say Thank You for all the Entertainment and hard work. But more than that, the useful information that I have because of you. Thank You Les

I don't know how often you read the comments or even if you do, but many tips you have covered in your shows came in very handy when Hurricane Laura hit my home town of Lake Charles, Louisiana. After the hurricane I lived in a tent with my dogs for over a year and did pretty well. There was a destroyed house and no electricity, gas and very limited food and water. We made it by cooking over a fire pit and camp stove. We made it through the heat and cold by working together. A bucket toilet became normal and a double bucket water filter collection and four starters came in wonderfully. I had to live a year and a half in a tent with five dogs and I did it and I'm a disabled 51 year old female. Determination is a big part in survival and looking past your pain. Thanks for your survival tips.

Thanks Les for the checklists. After Andrew I went to the library and checked out books on hurricanes. One book, was about the Labor Day Hurricane of 1935. One thing that I remember from that book was how an old timer was recounting his kit, and he said the last two things you need in you box is a rope, and axe. The axe would allow you to chop through the roof, and the rope would help you get down off the roof once the wind, and waves settle down. Bless

Living in Texas, We get storms and I keep a vest type life preserver in my truck with Trauma Kit, Tourniquet, Space Blanket, Fire Starter in the vest pockets a Dive Knife on one shoulder strap, and a Flashlight on the other shoulder strap. Plus a water bottle and rain suit stashed with the life preserver. I have abandoned my vehicle before and waded through water to get home.

When I took my security courses, pertaining to fire extinguishers and the use of one, we were taught the phrase (PASS). That means
P- pull the pin, A- aim, S-spray, and S- sweep.
So, PASS~ pull, aim, spray, sweep. Pretty much what Les said but this is another way to remember how to properly use the fire extinguisher.
-!!!- ALSO, and this is very important, at least once a month take at a minimum 1-2 minutes to shake up the contents of the fire extinguisher because it will settle over time and pretty much turn into concrete in the bottom of said extinguisher and become useless.
Take care and stay safe everyone, peace.

Thanks Les, for another great and useful video! Your one of the best fosho!

Well, not only a surviving tips here for me, but you actually speak so clear that I use your videos to learn english from hearing :) I'm a selflearner, most from movies and games with subtitles. I loved your series back in the day as a kid and i love them the same now as an adult. Thank you, Sir.

Here in the U.S. a great resource are the Goodwill or other types of Thrift shops for blankets clothing and even water bottles and with a little inventiveness countless other cheap cost survival items

I work for Home Depot and we do tend to run out of thoseSmall propane cylinder quite often. You can actually refill them with your standard grill propane tank. And buying a Mr heater attachment there’s a YouTube video on it. We also have emergency matches. I myself am doing some long-term camping. And find that I have an excessive amount of propane on hand. I also found that goodwill stores a lot of the time if they don’t sell the stuff. They throw it in a dumpster you can get army quality. Or heavy duty camping quality for a good price. Always love watching Survivorman videos I’m glad he still putting them out. Sure I couldn’t have been easy doing all the Survivorman videos in the past.

Multi tool should be in every list Les. In my opinion, The leatherman Wave is pound for pound the best thing to have in every glove box, every backpack, and at least one in the house

A small compact mirror on the first list would be included if I were in that situation. Getting a reflective attention is important.

Hands down your number one tool/weapon is your mindset. Ego is by far the most disastrous thing many will rely on. Great video!

REI garage sales are a great place to get expensive camping equipment ridiculously cheap. Might need to do a little repair work on some of it, but it's worth your life.

In a Survival Course many years ago, the instructor said that the difference between a disaster and an inconvenience was preparation.

Having an expert reaffirm things I know makes me feel good about my preps. But I love Les’ realism in scenarios that would actually occur. Like he said about the needle and thread, chances are most won’t do that, and I feel liquid bandage (super glue) would be his solution on top of bandaging of the wound was truly that bad. We all there is so much more!

Keep disseminating your knowledge Les! The world needs it 🙌
