In this episode we’re going to take a look at some of the early stages of development of the academic field of religion and then in later episodes talk about the anthropology of religion, sociology of religion, psychology of religion, phenomenology of religion (or experience of religion), and finally the comparison of religion. To get started with the early stages of development in this episode we’re going to mention people named Schleiermacher, Hegel, Feuerbach, Max Müller, and Troeltsch.
