Chancellor Rachel Reeves gives Commons statement on her visit to China to boost UK economy

This week's market movements - with the cost of government borrowing surging and the value of the pound falling - has placed more pressure on the chancellor.

Both the Tories and the Lib Dems argued the trip to China should have been cancelled so Ms Reeves could focus on the economy back home.
