Armed Citizen Shoots Burglar Kicking In The Door In 'Safe Neighborhood' in Lake Forest Park , WA

Burglar Lake Forest Park Defensive Gun Use

It always confuses me when people say things like, "I thought I lived in a safe neighborhood this, shouldn't happen," because they don't realize that criminals prey on people's false sense of security.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Lake Forest Park Police Department reported that a resident of a home had shot and killed a burglar.

The police responded to a report of a burglary in progress at 1:35 p.m. on Wednesday. The burglar had forced entry into the home, which was occupied at the time, and was subsequently shot by the sole resident.

People think that just because a neighborhood looks nice and is quiet, it automatically makes it safe from criminals.

However, it is precisely because the neighborhood looks nice and is quiet that a criminal would want to break into homes in that area.

Another thing I want to point out is the time of day that this home invasion took place.

Contrary to what your intuition would tell you, most home invasions happen during the day. FBI burglary data in 2021 showed that 196,684 of all reported residential burglaries occurred during the daytime compared to 154,723 at night.

The reason for this is because criminals assume that most people will be off at work and not at home during the day.

So while you're sipping your coffee and taking a Skype meeting in a suit jacket and underwear, make sure you have your gun close by.

I also want to point out the fact that the homeowner called 911 before he shot the intruder.

This should be an eye-opener for anyone thinking that calling 911 is a magic solution. It is not.

He called them, but they couldn't get there fast enough to do anything. So, whether you like it or not, you are your own first responder.

Calling 911 is essentially a reporting system to cover yourself legally.

Because, as you can see in this case, they're still investigating.

If this had happened in Texas, there probably wouldn't be an investigation because we don't play with our castle doctrine in Texas.

However, not all states are built the same, so make sure you understand the self-defense laws and castle doctrine laws in your state because you could find yourself in a sticky legal situation otherwise.

This will give you access to some of the best legal minds on the issue of self-defense while also providing you with access to self-defense insurance.

So, if you ever have to use your gun in self-defense, you won't have to stress about how to pay for or navigate possible legal issues.

That's why I choose to work with USCCA because you don't just get self-defense insurance; you get an entire support system of knowledge and training that I think is invaluable.

I think USCCA is the best, and they do offer my followers special FREE bonuses to become a member with a 365-day money-back guarantee.

The fact that they are even thinking about going after the home owner is the most disgusting part of this story.

People who don’t think we need guns to protect our homes and families are mind-blowingly naive. These are not “gun rights” we’re trying to preserve, this is the right to self defense

Give that home owner a medal! Thank you for protecting you and your families’s life’s! Shame on the DOJ.

"Homeowner has not been charged... but that could change." It's despicable that someone could be charged with a crime as a result of defending oneself in one's own home.

The media is always portraying self defense as a bad thing. That's really aggravating.

HOW THE HELL can anyone, in their right mind, be considering prosecuting a homeowner protecting himself...? INSANE.

They need to start naming the prosecutors and judges 'looking for charges' in cases like this

I live 20 minutes away, also in a safe area. People have told me I don’t need to have a gun because of where I live, this video proves I’m not crazy for being armed at all times 🤷🏻‍♂️

He won’t allegedly kick in anyone else’s door. Thank you.

So the robber “allegedly” kicked in the door, but the home owner “shot” the “alleged” robber. Ironic how “allegedly” goes out the window when describing a law abiding citizen potentially to be arrested and/or sued civilly. Upside down world.

I love how she emphasized allegedly, when she talked about the door being kicked in, but didn’t say he was allegedly shot by the homeowner.

I'm a cop in the UK. During conversations with colleagues, they often say "I could never work/live in the US, too many guns".
I always reply "I could never live their either, too many law abiding citizens getting charged for defending themselves".

Self defense against someone who threatened their lives. Why the hell should they face charges for that?

The home owner deserves a medal -- not charges!

The fact that they report charges may be filed against the homeowner protecting his home and family is ludicrous!! Note they say “alleged” I think that went out the door when he illegally entered the victim’s home!

No homeowner should EVER be considered for charges for defending their home during an invasion. This is the second offense in that area in less than 6, 7 months. This is why I'm extremely thankful I at least live in a state that has a stand your ground law and supports castle doctrine. I have two 90 pound pits and a 140 pound Rottweiler, if you're somehow lucky enough to make it past them I can promise you the three shooters in my house won't take kindly to you being there unannounced or uninvited. Pro tip, get some motion activated flood lights and put up a CCTV somewhere on your property. It might save you ass if your state decides it wants to pursue charges. Stay strapped and carry on comrades 👉🏾

Safe neighborhoods are only possible in this age if you don't have humans around. Back in the 50's we had a neighbor's family go on vacation, 2 weeks, only leaving their swinging screen door across the open front door so their dog could go in and out and another neighbor went over to feed him. Strange sometimes to realize how selfish humanity has gotten.
