2006 to 2011 Honda Civic Aux Cord Installation for phone

I show you how to install an auxiliary cord in the 2006 to 2011 Honda Civic. The factory stereo comes with an aux button, but it does not work as there is no input to it. Aftermarket cords are available that plug right into the factory stereo. I show you how to remove your factory stereo, and once you do this you can use your Iphone, Android, Google, or any other music playing device to listen to your tunes!!!

If you have navigation on your phone it will also play though the speakers.

Ultimate trim tool (I really mean it, this one is good):

planning on getting this car this week. Holy moly thats a lot of work to put a cable there, a cable that kinda should have been installed by default considering "AUX" literally displays on the radio buttons.

I'm having a Honda Civic for a year, and I was looking a longtime for a solution to this issue. I'll try this way... thanks a lot !

Thanks for the video! It seemed like a daunting task, for a non-mechanical person like me, but it all worked out!

So you mean to tell me my 2006 honda ex I'll have to do these steps? I've never used the aux and now that I'm passing on this car to a family member they asked me about the aux. This is some b.s I mean I have a newer car now.

Hello, thanks for the video it's really useful. I was able to replace the existing connector with the new aux cable connector with your first method. After removing the existing connector, the controls for volume on the steering wheel are not working. Maybe I will combine wires from both the connectors on one connector and then the controls might work. But for doing that I might have to take the whole radio out. It was really difficult to remove the connector, I'm not sure if I can do that again.

I have just got a 2006 Honda Civic Ex, how do I know if I need to do this installment? My cars shows that I have a aux hole under where you can charge your phone but when I try to use my aux nothing pops up on the radio when I tap on the aux, I will highly appreciate if you could reply back to me. I’m 18yrs old an it’s my 1st car I would love to listen to my own music!!!

I notice there is an AUX cable port below the cigarette lighter charger. Could I just use an AUX cable to phone to allow it to play instead of having to dig into the center console?

The AUX Port is legit under the car charger outlet, if it isn’t working just swap it out, it has an official part number and everything.

I watched the video.

and I immediately ordered the cable.

The product arrived and I installed it as you showed in the video, but it does not go to the aux section. Only cd and radio appear on the screen.

Hey, I noticed that you are replying to the comments, so I wanted to check something with you. I was able to install the cable, took me a while as I didn't want to take off the dash, but I was able to get everything hooked up. The problem that I have is that the audio quality is not very good. I was expecting the quality to be close to the cd, but the volume is very low, and the audio quality is bad.
Do you have the same problem or can it be that the cable that I have is damaged or bad quality? Is the volume and the overall audio quality the same as what you get from a cd, or is it worse in your car as well?
Also, thank you for making the video. It really helped me get the cable in the right port since I wasn't able to see anything when I hooked it up.

My son has a 2009 EXL. It has an input for an aux cable so I’m guessing Honda did it because of the different trim levels.
