Honda is known for its long lasting cars and reliability. When the typical person thinks of a Honda Civic, they may think 200K + miles, and you are right. However, within those miles, issues do come up.
This video is not telling you not to buy the eighth gen 2006-2011 Honda Civic, but instead just letting you know the potential issues that may come up like any typical car. All cars have their issues.

The Honda Civic is surprisingly very reliable, however, that does not mean they are all problem free.
I am not saying do not buy one.
I am simply trying to help people either diagnose issues they may have and help others with inspecting the car before their purchase.
Too many haters here in the comment section 😂

I've had my 2006 for 14 years. No real problems, but the sun visor does fall. It has 340, 000 miles and runs like it did the day I bought it. The most reliable car i have ever owned.

I picked up this model back in 2008 when it had 44, 000 miles. It's 2021 it still running strong at 189, 000 miles. Only problem I had is worn front struts, failed starter and blow cv axles. All fixed and everything is maintained through service manual. This car definitely worth the buy.

I owned a 2007 Honda civic. Of the eighteen cars that I have owned in my life, it ranks in the top three, without a doubt.

235k on a 2010 ex coupe. Only thing replaced, outside of regular brakes/tires/plugs, was a cat and engine mount at 100k.

I'm here because the new artificial intelligence writers for SpongeBob kept making Squidward scream 2006 Honda civic

My 86 year old mother has a 2006 with 7400 miles, went to get her a battery put in and the technician was struggling with the dash, I walked out and said, no that’s not the trip odometer, it’s the actual miles.

You forgot about the Takata airbag recall. I own an 06 one, I'm very happy with it so far.

I love my 2007 Honda Civic Coupe EX, bought it at 100k a little over a year ago and now at 146k and I loveee it still and I do all the oil changes, engine mounts, brakes basic tune ups myself always on time to keep those MPG (30-40) 😳. I drive a lot here in California and enjoy life with my baby (civic)😅.

I love my 2011 Civic manual, no issues at all aside from the left rear wheel bearing at 110K. This car is so smooth to drive. I find that buying a car at the end of the model cycle helps to avoid common issues.

I had the visor issue and my headliner sagging quite a bit. Another thing that I’ve seen on many 8th gen Civics is the weather stripping deteriorating everywhere but especially on the sides of the windshield. Nonetheless my 09 Civic has 110K and has never given me any problems in its 13 years of service. Still drives like new!

I bought a 2011 civic new, and am still driving it with 277000 miles, and have had none of the issues listed. Only issues with mine was a power steering rack replacement, and replacing the compressor clutch for the air conditioning. Both of which I did myself. The car has never been in a shop for repair other than a recall for the locking mechanism in the doors. It consistantly gets 38 miles per gallon when I drive it (very little city driving). No cvt, no turbo, no hybrid, and no problems. I bought it on clearance for under $17000 when the new model year was coming out. It is the best vehicle I have ever owned.

I literally have had none of these issues except for the motor mount issue, and that one is surprisingly easy to fix. These cars are very reliable. The only other issue I have had was a couple batteries needing replaced, a valve cover gasket, and then a starter, but those are all preventive maintenance issues that occur on ANY vehicle. I have around 190k on my 08 Civic EX coupe and it's still running strong. Though the issues in this video can potentially happen, they are still pretty rare issues
