Landscape Photography | Southern France

I was fortunate recently to travel to the coast of Southern France with family and not one for missing a landscape opportunity, I took along with me all my photographic equipment. In this video I shoot two beautiful sunrises; one in Port Vandres and the other in the little harbour town of Collioure, which is well known for its connections with French artists.

I've been browsing through your archive of videos and goodness Simon, this one was a real heart stopper! I first discovered that area in my now distant vagabond youth when I was on my way by train to a conference in Barcelona. The train stopped at Collioure and it was unexplained love at first sight. To the point where I abandoned the conference, got off the train and spent the first of many weeks in the magical Hotel Les Templiers, room 42 I remember to this day. I loved the place so much I nearly bought a house there... but instead I ended up in Italy. Goodness knows how or why! Thanks for bringing back some wonderful memories.

You know those events where you remember exactly where you were?  I was in Collioure when 9/11 occurred.  Have had many trips to those parts since, staying at Banyuls-sur-Mer.  Theres a windmill up in the hills nearby, and lots of local colour in the market at Argeles.  Ultimate entertainment is when the French Navy go on manoeuvres in the bay in front of a beachful of sunbathers. Thanks for the memories

Again that first image you got of the deep red coming over the horizon is a stunning image. Thank you for sharing and a well done Sir, That second image - stunning. I see you have a Canon and you mentioned Simon about closing the back to stop light leakage. Has Canon made a eyepiece that we can close now. For I approached Canon myself stating that they should make one available ???
