Thanks for making this video.
Soon I'll be getting them from RFDesign too, especially the TXMod.

It's a pity not many videos on YouTube talks bout these radio, especially the TXMOD, it's WiFi Feature, and the support for many to many connection topology which is a big plus point for me.

I will buy 3.
A) The TXMOD with the tiny 2db antenna will go to my TX16S (obviously). It will also stream the telemetry to my Android tablet via WiFi.
B) a RF900X will go onto my MFD Mimi Crossbow antenna tracker, connected to a Yagi and also a 5db dipole. This RF900X will also supply telemetry to the AAT via wire (or Bluetooth, to be decided later).
C) a RF900UX will go onto the plane.

A will talk to C directly when it's near and signal is strong
A will talk to C via B when A-C signal is weak.

The radio make decisions rather than just mechanically take input and churn output.

Setting up is also pretty straight forward for those familiar with command line and scripting on PC/Linux/Mac.

I can put my AAT tripod in the middle of the field, or on the roof of a building while I hide from the sun under the shades or inside my car, while not having to worry about signal strength. In hot Malaysian weather that really helps.

What about the RFDesign Module, could you make a video on how to use it with the transmitter signal and telemetry?

another tip, microsoft surface LTE tablets are great to run missionplanner through wifi to the TX but also USB (mavlink mirror) to an antenna tracker like the MFD mini crossbow. Inav also connects to mission planner with the mavlink telemetry enabled showing the craft and some data through mission planner.

It would be great if you could cover some advanced stuff like the long awaited sbus pass through and setting fail-safe. This has been tortuous in the past. Thanks

My set is out for delivery! I can't wait, I've had some real issues using clones. Decided to buy the set from 3dxr.

Great video once more!
Just one note: Crossfire has been found to loose quite a lot of packets while running both rc and telemetry at the same time.
Also, the telemetry rate of crossfire is way smaller than RFD systems, so to say you can also use crossfire is true, but much limited compared to RFD.

I have been using RFD900x for a little while on 2 quads (16 inch and 7 inch) as well as a fixed wing, great and now the V2 JR bay module no longer needs a converter board for Sport for telemetry to the TX. One recommendation... get some short antenna extension cables as the antenna mounts on the board do peel off if an antenna gets stuck on the threads or takes a knock. Have had this happen and it wasn't fun.

I have heard that the cheap holybro v3 radios, 500mW, can give ranges of 20 miles with upgraded antennas and having them of the ground by 2m.... does anyone know if this is true? I dont want to go buy antennas that wont work and waste alot of time!....

It is possible to connect it to transmitter and have an rc link with sbus. So you can use this radio instead of crossfire or R9.
I think it is important addition to the telemetry functionality.
Also encryption is here if you need

Hy! I am also using these RFD868x-EU modules. With one pair everything was working fine as you have shown in the video but with 2 pairs that are point to point communicating with eachother. I face alot of txerror. As in EU the frequencies are fixed, so can't change the frequencies and this is casuing interference. Have you faced the same issue?

Great video. I have a question. Telem pixhawk cable also gives 5V from Pixhawk if I know correctly. Doesn't it confilict with the separate power 5V BEC? Also, most importantly, can I know where to buy that crade? I am very interested in purchasing it.

Great video as always! do you think its risky to use a 915mhz telemtry radio with a frsky r9m for rc? does it interfere?

Id like to know if is it possible to share frsky telemetry with my laptop using a usb cable. Thanks

RFD is a great telemetry in terms of range and communication but the antenna on ground module are so heavy and if you drop it then pcb will break
I don't like it's fragile design of the pcb and unprotected components.
