Bose Flex 2 vs JBL Charge 5

The Bose Soundlink Flex Gen 2 is a very portable, very durable, and very premium feeling speaker, and it performs very well. However, this is another example of bose adding some very minor upgrades to their products, and slapping a new name on them. And for 2025, I feel the Bose Flex 2 is a little hard to justify when compared to its direct price competitors… so today we’re going to see how the Bose Flex 2 compares to the JBL Charge 5 which admiditly is pretty old now, but its still a solid mid sized speaker to recommend.

I have both. The JBL is louder and better suited for outdoors. The Bose does give off a better overall sound and better suited for indoors.

I finally got to listen to the two, side by side in person (at a Target 😂). Preferred the Bose. Fuller, richer sound to my ears. For $120, a great value.

Both are good. JBL is alittle over punchy and over Bose. As bose provides flatter, but warmer sound. But. I like both of them. Would use JBL as for a house party/backyard speaker. Bose for on the go and personal speaker.

Both are good, can't go wrong with them. Remember, everyone has different taste in music. As sound is like food for the ears. Some people like fish and steak, others don't.

Flex 2 is overall better, it's smaller and lighter, the clarity is better, mids are cleaner.
Not a jbl hater, i own the cbarge 5 as well.

My theory is that the Flex Gen 2 is a temporary refresh to tide people over until they can fully redesign it. They did that with the QC ears buds 2 before the following year it was redesigned into the QC Ultra earbuds. When the flex gets redesigned, it will probably take on a new form factor akin to a mini SL Max.

in my country both are the same price. I have already big jbl but for small speakers I feel the bose is really more interesting being slimmer.

The Soundlink Flex is a Massage for the Jbl is Harsh as Hell....I Had 2 Sounlink Flex...and sold it ( Big Regrets) ....Bought many Speakers at these two Years....I had two JBL Charge ....and Sry....i waa a Hardcore JBl Fan before ...BUT...The New Line ....Charge 5. flip 6....Extreme 4 ..Boombox 3 ...All of them have Ear Piercing Sound....And Now : I Had a Soundlink Flex 2 and a the Soundlink Flex 2 for its Size is FOR me one of the best Speakers on the Market...Not the loudest but the Sound for a MONO Speaker is unbelievable very good for Podcasts....Youtube etc....and for Smooth listening on 30/60% ...The Soundstage from this Speaker is clearly insane ...And believe ive bought many many many ....maaaany BT Speakers the last 15 Years....its my Hobby....

I have charge 5 wifi and soundlink flex 2.. its hard to decide because they have a great sound to my ears but the most sounds for me for these two is the bose soundlink flex 2.

If you want quality sound get a bose, If you want bass and party sound get a jbl. Simple.

Ive been team jbl for the longest. But after owning so many i find the sound signsture almost annoying with the highs being through the roof, and the lack of mid bass BECAUSE of the treble (maybe 80hz and up)
