This is a great tip. For years I didn't think about orienting the front to red/green axis and now I do. This is good to know from the very beginning of using SU.😎🤙

Thank you. When building certain pieces of furniture or cabinetry, I need to get back to certain views to be certain of geometrical lines needed or referenced - Standard views is the way to go. Very fast and simple.

Didn't know that ISO view depends on the camera position! Good to know.

One tini-tiny knit-pick is SU shows the ground color in both the bottom and top view when in perspective mode. However, it WILL instantly change to the sky background instantly when the bottom view is chosen and you click on the screen.

Dear Aaron, thanks for those useful and enjoyable video tutorials
Appreciate if you can do one for the paint bucket and materials

Love the tee shirt Aaron, looks like a tattoo ( less the rose in the teeth and a snake wrapped around the neck) I designed back in school. 1969 that is.

Hi! Great video. I Just have a question, can the standard views be reoriented to match the faces of a rotated object? I changed the axes to match the object but the standard views remained the same, showing the object skewed. I tried searching for tutorials about this but couldn't find any. Will appreciate the help. Thanks

I do a lot of quick house models for solar panel installations so "North" is important. But "Front" is equally important.

For years I used Sketch-up 2015 Pro and Layout and converted to 2021 when I had to replace my PC that died. In SU-2015 you could define the Solar-North relative to the Axes at Origin, and the Solar-angle remained constant at I shifted the "active" axes around. I seem to have lost this in SU-2021 as it seems I can only change the Solar-angle by Geolocation and I then lose the "Front Elevation" being fixed at 0-degress in Standard Views. My current work-around is to capture the entire model as a component and drop it in a new file and Geolocate there ...but I lose the "live" Model for shading. If I just *rotate* the Model off the Origin Axes I lose Standard Views, and my plans and details are then skewed in Layout.

Is the Sun locked to the Origin Green-axis, or can I change the Solar-angle within the Model and still preserve the "Front" standard View? Or, can I change the "Front" standard view to something other than the Origin Green-axis so I can access the Left-Rear-Right-Roof Plan standard Views? I think I'm missing "something" obvious, but I can't figure this out. My template are updated SU-2015 Model and Layout files. I have noticed just recently that some features and menu-pulldowns of SU-2021 are *not available* in updated SU-2015 files.

if you change the world axis, do views align with the new position?
