I’m Dr. Dana Brems, also known as Foot Doc Dana. I’m completing my third year of residency in Los Angeles. As a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM), I treat everything from trauma including broken bones, other sports injuries, foot wounds, calluses, thick or ingrown nails; you name it! Being a physician is a serious job, but we can have a lighthearted side too. That's why I created this channel- to make medical themed #shorts videos for fun, while also helping to answer your questions.

As a med student, you don't really expect just how tough it will be... People keep saying you're always having exams, never have time to hangout ... I struggle with managing my everyday chores and my study load... But i know all of this hard work will be worth it in the end .. can't wait to be a doctor! 🔥

I would like to add, not only doctors go thru that. Anyone with a real passion for a goal will sacrifice many things.

I really needed to see this. I’ve been so torn over the fact that I won’t be able to to go out when I start my journey to becoming a doctor. Thank you I just need that reassurance.❤️

Not everyone needs to prioritize the same things ya know? Prioritize what YOU want first. Be that in education, a hobby, other people, whatever it is. Not everyone needs to only want one thing. So her friends are completely fine for partying, just like she’s fine for choosing to study and chase her dream. None of them are wrong for doing what they want.

My family has run the gambit the last 2 years. ER docs, trauma docs, L&D docs, nurses, RTs, PTs, OTs, etc and most recently oncology staff. And from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU for all that sacrifice ❤❤ good health care providers are angels on earth

I honestly really appreciate foot doctors. I have really flat feet and it causes me a lot of pain in other parts of my body, like my knees. And I mean extreme pain, it hurts really bad. But thanks to my foot doctor, I was able to get orthotics to go in my shoes so I’m no longer in pain. I appreciate what you do!!! Keep up the hard work!!!

i have a level-3 burn on my foot, by hot water(it was more than 120 deg. Celsius); thanks to the doctor, who was at the night waiting for anyone who needs for help at emergency room, he helped me to relieve the pain 🥺 sometimes i look to my foot and see that i grow up, because now it's only 4/1 of skin that has scars; but i can't forget that pain my whole life. take care of your feet, that's all i'm gonna say. 😥

Such respect for all the doctors out there and the immense amount of schooling that it took to get their medical degree. And then the long grueling hours of work they put in, day in and day out.

Last year med student - partied hard (pre-pamdemic) coz that was something to give me energy and clear up my mind. Sure, sometimes I'd sit locked up in my room for days (and nights) but without going out, relaxing and having time for myself I would have never made it through the med school. One year when I didn't have "fun time" my mental health went down the drain, making me miserable AND unproductive, lowering my study performance and getting me rollin into a burnout syndrome. Allowing myself the free time again after that was the best decision I've made. And I didn't barely slide through the courses, I was top of the class for the most parts. Mental health should be number one priority. Then, sure, if you're studying medical you gotta compromise sometimes, you have to be dedicated and willing to put in the work, but it should never be to the degree when your physical and mental health are suffering. Unless you wanna end up with a burnout before you even finish your degree.
