In 1974 a hurricane with 105 mph hit this area and went thru Houma. I was visiting in central Texas at the time.
The news people in San Antonio were joking about the cajans at this time. Three days later having flash floods from the storm, they were crying about all the rain.

People down the Bayou have been rebuilding homes for a long time will keep rebuilding. It's home. For those that keep saying to move....mind your own business, no one is asking you to live here. Be respectful of other people's homes.

The ignorance of these people is astounding. Yes, keep rebuilding in an area has been proven to be direct bullseyes for strong hurricanes.
