I adored this scene as well, because it was very authentic to real teenagers and what they're feeling. Heck, humans in general, because even adults go through similar experiences too. I hope we see them figure out their relationship and get back to being happy together once Vecna is thrown off of a cliff into the deep dark abyss.

To be honest, this scene just proved to me that Hopper was right. Mike and Eleven were too attached and relied too much on being physically close to each other. It was not just that Eleven lost her powers. The distance clearly brought about a kind of rift between them where Eleven did not feel confident enough to confide her struggles with Mike and Mike also not feeling that blind confidence in his love and kind of hero worship almost that he used to feel for Eleven.
