Sous Vide Steak with a Brew Kettle | Anvil Foundry | BONUS EP

Today I’m going to sous vide an 8oz filet with my Anvil Foundry 6.5 gallon brewing system. Sous vide is french for ‘under vacuum’ and is a cooking technique that involves low temperatures and extended cooking times. This method results in less of a gradient of doneness. Almost 100% of the steak is cooked to the same doneness and the sear leaves a very thin ring around the meat.

If you have a brewing system like the Anvil Foundry, it’s likely you have everything you need to sous vide. Ultimately, it’s up to you to choose the perfect cooking temperature for your steaks but remember that systems like the Anvil Foundry will overshoot the target temperature by 2 or 3 degrees periodically during the cook time.

Now, let’s make some steak!

Looks like the Anvil Foundry can do almost anything. You could sous vide an entire roast with potatoes and veggies. Meals for a whole week.!.

Great Video, short and to the point! I been planning on doing this myself. Looks like your steak came out perfectly even. Have you considered doing an equipment overview/review video? I would find that really interesting. Keep up the great brew day videos. Cheers!

This is ridiculously ingenious. I brew on a system that’s a good bit bigger (at least in physical size) but my RIMS would do an awesome job of this.... I wondered the opposite Can you Mash with a Sous Vid?

Brilliant. I didn’t think of that. Now I don’t have to order both. Another plus you could start your breakfast the night before and then use the warm water to start your brew and save time doing both.

What happened to the silver anvil surfer? Oh yeah he became a platypus knight chess piece lamb is this why they tried to make the lamb shanks green? That was only on the fat meat was fine and it was on some of the bones but that was used for the other leg at asda carpark for pritty and j cover while covering the jam ja 😂

The only thing that angers me about this video is that I'm not getting any of that steak, lol.
