I thought it was amazing how Job says something about his word being written on a scroll so everyone would know his redeemer lives. Job’s prayer was answered - millions of people read this word and know our redeemer lives. God worked good through Job’s hardship just as he promises us!

God is trustworthy. He is in control when we go through pain and suffering, it’s something that is hard to grasp

Thank you so much for this. 5 yrs ago my 11 yr old daughter was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor DIPG. She passed 6 months later. Since that diagnoses day I have felt like Job. Now my husband is not long in church and drinking, my son is not in church either. I have delta with these struggles like Job. But I take comfort knowing My Redeemer Lives. Thank you

Job has solid faith on God even though regardless of his challenges. He is not listening to friends because he knows that his redeemer lives.

Job 16-17 were an eye opener for me. Living where I do where addiction has basically overrun our small city, this spoke volumes to me. As much as I hate to admit it, and will never say out loud to anyone I know or speak to, I have an addiction problem. I came to you to find hope, support and peace with my struggling daughter, and have also found peace and help for myself. He, and also you Tara-Leigh, have shown me the light at the end of the tunnel, as well as helped me be closer to the ending of that tunnel. Thank you so much, I’ll be forever grateful for finding you, as you have helped me find, accept, and love God

"My Redeemer" I love that He's personally my Redeemer not just a general Redeemer.

What I find interesting is the three friends had no problem pointing out all of Job’s sins and faults. The problem is they misapplied an abstract truth because they are correct when they state that God does punish the wicked and reward the righteous. However, they didn’t have Gods perspective on the matter at hand. They assumed Job was guilty of sin when catastrophe struck and they were eyewitness to all the things taken place in Jobs life. But human suffering is not always a sign of God’s judgment. Sometimes the innocent suffer. Jesus taught this in the NT as well (John 9:3). Although suffering takes place Gods will be done. Often our suffering or suffering of others blinds us to the fact that God is Sovereign and working His own good purposes out through each of us.

May I be as committed as Job to my Lord and Savior as I face trials in life.

I like the idea, we are storing up knowing who God is for the time when go through the inevitable trials that come our way.

In Job 19:10, Job seems hopeless, since his “hope is uprooted like a fallen tree, ” but then in Job 19:25, he realizes that although his circumstances are hopeless in themselves, his hope comes from Who God is: his redeemer, Who he will see “for himself” “in his body, ” “after [his] body has decayed” (Job 19:26-27). It’s not answers to “what” or “why” that give us hope, but “who.”

I know I can't be the only one who's thinking about Handel's Messiah right now - "I Know That My Redeemer Liveth." It was written, I think, for Easter, but it gets performed a lot at Christmastime.

Job’s ability to declare God as his Redeemer comes from his firsthand experiences with God. He has clearly come to know God as faithful and is therefore able to find solace in that. Job knows that he hasn’t wronged God so he doesn’t “deserve” what he’s going through. And, at the same time, he trusts God enough to go through it KNOWING THAT God will meet him on the other side of it, not as punisher, but as Redeemer. ❤❤❤
