@Meade556 because I have worked in the civilian sector for 18 years and now am working as a contracto on a military base, I also have 21 years in the military, so i'm well versed in the "system" and those who are in it.

@Meade556 This is the problem with the federal government hiring so many employees. There becomes a conflict of interest between the tax payers who pay for them and their compensation. If the federal government simply hired fewer workers the problem would go away.

@Kyocera234 So how are these people "lazy?" hmmm? And when you wear a uniform you work for Uncle Sam, you are a Federal worker! A lot of contractors I meet also know just because they are "private sector" does not make them so and they treat their GS counterparts with respect

@kriskats19 You don't want underpaid Government employees, were need the Government to provide essential services without which our way of life is impossible and the Federal employees and their compensation is not a big driver in our budget, the real problem is the $500, 000, 000, 000 gorilla of private sector contractors, the military budget and that we do not drive a harder bargain with the private sector on Medicare and Medicaid.

There has never been an example to my knowledge where privatization of government services has led to a savings for the taxpayer. Government would operate at a break even method where its private counterpart requires greater profits to appease shareholders. Minimizing payroll affect services negatively.
This presentation has shown one thing. That the private sector employees are underpaid.

@kriskats19 The Federal Government has fewer employees than under Reagan, a lot of the new employees Obama hired were just temporary GS cenusus workers who have since been laid off, the rest were replacements for contractors, meaning the Federal sector has created a net of zero jobs under Obama and 85, 000 more were let go last year.

@Kyocera234 Part of my job is attracting Govt people, Local, State and above all Federal to work in the private sector. Part of me does not regret what I do, I get some exceptional people who contribute a lot, but they have been taken out of the public sector where they were doing good for everyone. I win people over usually by mentioning the abuse they suffer, their lousy pay and benefits which are constantly under attack
