This is why a Stingray can kill you

Today we are looking at stingray barbs under the microscope!

You don't really need a microscope to see them, but one certainly helps magnify the incredibly sharp barbs on either side of the bone itself.

They are propelled with enough force to penetrate and puncture deep inside your skin. They are long enough to reach vital organs and body tissue.

I recall a time when I was fishing from shore and caught a sting ray. I went to remove the hook to release it and it stung me on my right wrist. One of the worst places to get stung because I couldn’t drive home due to my car being stick shift and none of my friends knew how to drive it lol
