Saw some replies in comments say that Steve wouldn't have wanted us to blame or hate stingrays because of what happened to him. And they're right. It was a tragic accident, and he would still want us to learn about them and be fascinated by them❤

Some of them like to be petted.

They're also really weird feeling.
Their skin feels like a soft water balloon.
Well their back feels hard and has large spikes.

Still really cool.
I also for some reason find them extremely cute.

I think somewhere here in the Philippines, there is a reef with a lot of stingrays that are really really friendly and loves the treats the fishermen give them and they already named each of the rays and they respond to it when called. Kids love playing with them near the shore. They’re so gentle ❤️
