ENA: Dream BBQ is INCREDIBLE

This youtube indie animation became a video game and it’s amazing. Let me explain.

So between 2020 and 2021 an indie animated series called ena was released on youtube by joel g. It follows the protagonist ena, traversing a surreal video game like landscape while meeting an array of wacky characters. It blew up and was a huge hit.

From then the creator joel worked on a video game based on the series, and it’s first chapter released last week.

It’s called dream bbq and it’s completely free on steam.

I actually think it’s just as good, if not better than the youtube series. The voice acting, animation, music and visual identity is perfect. They’ve nailed the aesthetic and it feels like you’re living out an episode of the show in real time. Dream bbq has been a massive success which is wonderful, and i think it opens the door for future indie shows to make their own games as well

I forget that ENA was a indie animation fandom and not a mainstream fan base but now with the release of Dream BBQ I’m happy to see Joel g get the mainstream attention he deserved and has worked for :)
