Asking questions at the end of your job interview can help you learn more about the role. Good questions will also show that you’re interested and that you’ve done your research.

It’s a good idea to ask specific questions about what the job involves. If a task has been mentioned earlier in the interview as being part of the job, ask if they can give more details. If they mention training that you’ll have to complete, ask how it will be delivered, such as the balance of classroom study and on-the-job training.

You can also show your research by asking about a recent move by the company, a trend in the market it operates in, or how the company relates to its competitors.

Finally, make sure you know what questions not to ask. Don’t ask about salary or perks – save that for the job offer. And don’t ask questions which have already been answered on the employer’s website or during the interview process, or you’ll look like you haven’t been listening.
