The Sony A9III may be the ideal camera for flash photography. Its Global Shutter offers full control of ambient light with a revolutionary 1/80,000th/sec flash sync speed.

Global Shutter eliminates the need to use High-Speed Sync for flash photography, allowing you to get more power output from you flash, while also extending your battery life, and speeding up your recycle times.

Professional Sony Alpha photographer Reza Malayeri takes his A9III on-location to Bangkok Thailand, where he shares his thoughts on why he believes that there is no better camera for flash photography than the Sony A9III.

Take a look at how Reza leverages the power of the A9III’s Global Shutter to reduce the need for large and heavy lighting setups in harsh lighting, while also creating captivating portraits at iconic Bangkok locations like the Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun), and the beautiful Poomjai Garden.

Reza Malayeri is a professional photographer, cinematographer, and educator based in Seattle WA. He specializes in several creative fields, including wedding photography, portrait photography, and cinematography, and is an FAA Part 107 Remote Drone Pilot. As an educator, Reza's aim is to produce compelling educational content that inspires and empowers creators. You never explained how you syced the global shutter with the flash duration of the 300 light? At full power what is the fastest shutter you can use - likewise at 1/4 - everything you did in this video is easily achieved with HSS - you were often in shadows and/or in doors. This really could have been on any system.

I’d like to know about shutter speed and flash power rather than the inside color of your backpack.

Awesome demo and review. Your camera straps looks pretty cool. Which brand is that ?

I seen no advantage of having a global shutter on this shoot 🤷 all could have been done with normal ocf set up and any camera.

I would have liked to have seen a shot with and without flash/global shutter

What is it about this shoot that benefits from the global shutter?

What type of global shutter power was shown in this video? In the examples given, any Sony camera will shoot exactly the same.

With any camera you can do this. Even Canon EOS RP

What's that copper around the lens?

The first 3:48 minutes it’s about all your gear you are promoting, last minute is about flash

Sigh...this is where practicality vs theory do not u shot subject with large aperture in day light where shutter speed might hit 1/8000 or more without HSS then we all agreed global shutter was used

This video does not show how you benefit from the global shutter after spending the initial part of the video claiming the goodness and greatness of the global shutter mechanism. The video is more of your gear showcase rather. A letdown.

I dont get it - no advantage to high shutter speed here - maybe thats why none of the photos were provided with exposure settings...

WTF video is that about global shooter? Nothing explained about the advantages to buy this camera using off camera flash and no High Sinc.

seriously, this video offers absolutely no information about this shutter. Embarrassingly bad.

Sony a9iii is full of it… they haven’t had a video yet since it’s been released to show how it’s beneficial… I can take those shots with my T6 and speedlites… the clients were in shade the entire video… no fast movement or anything smh…🤦 Sony know they are trying to hide the fact that either the sync doesn’t work properly or that it’s too difficult to nail the sync
