Part one of our video mini series giving you the best chance of passing the driving test for your taxi licence.
Based on our experience of providing taxi assements or as they are sometimes called Taxi Tests, we're going to go through the main reasons you are going to fail, pick up driver faults and how to avoid them.

Remember what ever this is called it is a TEST. The test is designed to check your driving against the standards required against the current driving test standards.
You are expected to more competent than a newly qualified driver and as such are often only allowed 9 drivers faults and no serious faults.

Lots of councils have their own criteria for testing so if you want an explainer video for what they want please let me know in the comments and I will get that done for you.

Quite Frankly I think its a disgrace that people, who have held a licence for a long time, without any points, convictions or accidents are asked? Essentially, to re dl their driving test. I can drive hgv, car and motorcycles, have no points no convictions and a safe driver but I too my assesment and get failed by somebody 10 years younger than me who has less experience than me as driver..

I’ve been shown to avoid this u place your head where u are seated then adjust the mirror to the right looking out the corner of they eye you can see your car the road and that blind spot due to it being adjusted for a wider angle.

I am a hgv driver, with 4 years in europe, and 4 years in uk, without any minor accident.
And i tell not to you the guy in the video i tell to the people who give you a fail your test coz of this .
TURNING YOUR HEAD LIKE A DONKEY EVERY TIME IN THE TRAFFIC, LOOKING OVER YOUR SHOULDER FOR EVERY CHANGE OF LINE OR DIRECTION YOU DO, IS MAKING YOU LOSING ACTION IN THE FRONT .
IN THAT 2 SECONDS TOO MANY THINGS CAN HAPPEN IN THE FRONT EVEN YOU KEEP DISTANCE .
USUALLY I KNOW EVERYTHING IS GOING ON IN EVERY CORNER OF MY CAR AND TRUCK WICH IS 18 METERS.
I KNOW AND I SEE THE CAR BEFORE COME INTO THE BLIND SPOT.
BY FOCUS HALF OF YOUR Attention IN FRONT AND HALF IN THE 3 MIRRORS, USING ALSO THE MIDDLE ONE.
IF YOU TURN YOUR HEAD, YOU TURN YOUR HEAD 90 ° NOT 180 ° .
The only way you do that is in a motorcycle you need it all the time.
But counting and observing the car before they are in the blind spot is coming with 10 + years of experience.
Try to do that in a truck more often and you will see what happen.
But if you want to pass yes, you should drive looking over your shoulder all the time
