Without the current NDA Govt. recognizing his potential and promoted him, he would not be in limelight even. So the entire credit for such a good Foreign minister lies entirely on Mr. Modiji alone. UPA govt. didn't even recognize his capabilities and was supposed to retire as the ambassador of United States.It was on the last day of his service, the existing foreign secretary was made to resign forcefully from her post and instead S.Jaishankar was made the Foreign secretary. It was Modiji impression on how Jaishankar as then ambassador to china was able to get things done in a sure and swift manner, prompted him to have Mr. S.Jaishankar as his Foreign secretary. Further he gave him further extensions as foreign secretary also. It is solely to the credit of Modiji in identifying right person and empowering him to be best External affairs minister.
