It's not just the RMT union. Currently in the UK (or through 2022), we have on strike (at various times): railway workers in multiple unions, nurses, doctors, trainee doctors, hospital cleaning staff, ambulance staff, dispatch staff, postal workers (delivery, collection, processing, etc), teachers, college & university lecturers, barristers (court lawyers), refuse workers, firefighters, and professional Rugby Union players!

There's not a week that goes by now without some form of industrial action or ballot.

I have seen so many (terrifying) strides towards the hard right (under the guise of "neutraility" or "freedom of speech") in the UK since the discussions begun about Brexit, and it's accellerated since. And I see the clear parellells in the US since the Dems were choosing their nominee pre the 2016 predidential vote. Sanders is right to highlight the relevance of Corbyn's policies to the working class, but unfortunately, in the UK, Corbyn is widely perceived as representing a metropolitan liberal middle class. A huge amount of time, money and effort was devoted to propagating this misperception. It’s heartbreaking that so many working-class voters didn't grasp that his program was exactly what they needed, and remain brainwashed into thinking that the far right is their antidote to an imagined elitism of the Left.
