Honors Biology: The discovery of the structure of DNA

The discovery of the structure of DNA, how it functions within a cell, and how to manipulate the sequence is an example of how a scientific theory develops.
a. Be able to explain how significant experiments have contributed to our understanding of DNA. (Griffith, Beadle & Tatum, Hershey & Chase, Chargaff, Franklin, Watson & Crick).
b. Describe the basic structure (double helix, sugar/phosphate backbone, linked by complementary nucleotide pairs) of DNA.
c. Describe DNA’s role in genetic inheritance.
