My non scientific calc with a Platinum biomax900 standing 12” away from the panel: Aiming for 35 joules/cm2 total for the full body for general wellness and skin. max of 6-7 joules per area of body. And compensating for light reflection whereby it may be recommended to multiply time in seconds by 2.5 because of 60% light reflection off of skin in order to achieve actual desired dosage. Example, adjust panel output settings to irradiance to max of approximately 50 mw/cm2 to avoid tissue heating concerns (70%*71 at 12” distance on the biomax900), then multiply irradiance of 50 * time in seconds 120 * .001 = 6 joules dose for treatment area. Then multiply time by 2.5 to compensate for skin reflection = adjusted time of 2.5*120 = 300 seconds or 5 minutes per treatment area at 50 mw/cm2 irradiance power level for 6 joules of dose per body area. 50 mw/cm2 may still be too high of power but I can’t stand there for 90 minutes to be at a lower 8 mw/cm2 output

Andrew I bought your Vector 4 wave mini, .it's wonderful. New to Red Light but not new to understanding the science. I appreciated all your info and transparency in your products, which is the reason I chose yours over countless others. . Well made, already getting amazing results in my skin at only 10 minutes /day. I know I'm not over dosing my skin and this product is so well made. Thank You! .

So with most consumer panels these days having a higher than necessary irradiance, would increasing the distance help mitigate the risk of an inhibitory effect?

Just trying to understand the best approach here for the layman. I have the BV301 Alibaba panels you’ve reviewed, since I can’t get yours in Canada.

I wonder if putting steak under red light for a few minutes would do anything positive...

Yes yes yes - Nature cannot be rushed ❤❤❤❤❤

I love this so much, thanks a lot!

How would I figure all this out for a polarised light therapy device ?

Could you maybe dumb your videos down for the regular people that want to use pbm without understanding the physics behind it .. I bougt a spazer mini 2.2 and now it seem that this is too strong if you use it on skin contact ? And in another video you said skin contact is the best so im really confused can somebody tell me what to use and how without getting a phd in physics ???

The reason I don't take the over dosing thing seriously is that every summer I get over dosed from being out in the sun (8-12 hour hikes etc.) & my health (and data from population health on heart attacks, cancer diagnosis etc.) We must have mechanisms to cope with too much NIR/IR?

Would this suggest that holding a red light flashlight (the one you made a video on) too close to the skin or at too high of an intensity, would have a negative effect?

Can you do a video on what to do for melanated skin? You have a great blog, but would help to understand product recs. 🙏🏾

Andrew said the James Carrol clip [shows a bi-phasic response to intensity with all being held at the same 'power density'.] This is incorrect - the examples are being held at the same ENERGY density, with varying power densities and times.
VERY POOR, CONFUSING, INCORRECT EXPLANATION.
