BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra hit out at senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid over his remarks indicating the possibility of a Bangladesh-like crisis in India. The BJP leader stated that the Congress party is trying to "spread anarchy" and "ruin India through backdoor tactics."

Drawing a similarity with Rahul Gandhi's "India on fire" remark, Patra stated, "Just consider the mindset of the Congress Party. I recall when Rahul Gandhi stood up in Parliament and said that this country will burn, there would be riots, and there would be attacks on the Prime Minister. Why did he say such things? When Rahul Gandhi travels abroad, he secretly meets with people and speaks against India."
