I watched this video because I'm experiencing a problem and from my research online and at O'Reillys there was a suggestion that it could be the ignition switch but I noticed in the comments below that the ignition switch is rarely the problem. It's a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic. I've had it a year now this month, the battery seemed to be dying and then wouldn't start. I thought it was because I wasn't driving it enough to charge the battery. Three different people with their own battery diagnostic tool (including at O'Reillys) showed that the battery and alternator are in perfect working order and charged. Soon after I couldn't start the truck, a friend jumped it. Then I noticed that when I would open the truck door to get in, the door chime would sound before I even put the key in the ignition. So, after doing my research, it seems two issues were suggested. That the keyless keyfob needs to be reset and reprogrammed (same as a reboot?) since it has a mini motherboard in there and/or the ignition switch needs replacing or reprogramming. Any suggestions? I can try to see if the battery needs to be replaced in the fob. Thank you for any ideas that you may have.

The module is easy to replace, but how do you program them to recognize your key without taking it to a dealership?

if vin doesnt match has to be reprogrammed to vin using a scanner ... autel is good xtool works as well

Where ya getting the keys? do they have to be new ones? How much?

I have 2013 Ram 3500 not reading my programmed key fobs. Bought new ignition, but that won't work in my truck?

I lost my fob to one of my rams “2014 1500” if I take the win module from my other ram “2017 2500 can I start the other ram with it?

I know but if i take used win from donor car and program key to it car not start. As vin code in ecu and win dont match.

Make key is no ptoblem for used win problem is match vin in ecm and win.
