Shamar needs to be incentivised to play for WI long term: He lacks the ferocity of Roberts or Ambrose but could be McGrath or Gillespie of this generation. He gets nice swing as well as pace. While his contract should permit at least one T20 franchise each year, he needs to be treated and managed like an asset. The "acid test" will be how he bowls in the subcontinent, but he will find a way. WI team balance is much improved, he and Seales are big factors in this.
