Exactly. Be professional. Have respect. Try to be better understanding. Same thing being a para. If a para has a problem with a teacher, or vice versa, and don't take it to Social Media. Take the problem to the person, privately. Any situation really. People get so childish.

My youngest got rsv at 4mo I thought she wasn’t going to make it! She spent 48hrs in a crib in the hospital with wires and oxygen I couldn’t hold her except to breastfeed her. I was so scared. Now she is a silly goofy 9yo! She is normally the last one sick these days but when she does get sick, it’s bad.

You're right, BUT, their (not everyone's) thought pattern could be running like this: "this information is incorrect, general public may hopefully read my comment and avoid believing this because I'm a health care professional too and because my own video about debunking this may not reach Dr Mike's viewers (for whom the debunk video is being made in the first place), and so commenting on here is the best thing to do".

Of course, they could've used nicer language to do that, but, all I'm saying there's a flip side to the story. Their perspective may be. Anyway, this episode was great. Was glad to see women in science on the podcast.

Critique in private? If you state your case publicly, you should expect any push back to be in the same venue. If you truly understand your material and have an honest grasp of your thesis, wouldn't you welcome that discourse that you, yourself, started in public? Isn't the truth that most things we accept as fact are really just widely accepted theories? And isn't it the job of science to constantly challenge those ideas to get ever closer to the real truth? Scientists are seen as soft, lab dwelling geeks...but if you seek a career in science, you better be the toughest, thickest skinned person in the room!
