wow! I'd just yesterday seen a hose repair ( join two pieces) exactly the same. but wondered how to do the wire clamp! also copper tube. cheaper than buying a repair attachment

Copper and spring steel are very different. I'd maybe try this in a pinch, if I only had copper wire. But I'd fix it right the first chance I got.

Everyone seems to be getting on this guys case. It's a good trick to get you out of a jam when you are stuck without a hose clamp and it's 20 miles to the nearest shop that sells them.
