Throw down some play sand to help with level and vibration. If you form it in like you're going to pour a concrete slab, you could make a really cool backyard addition. Could be used for horse shoes or just a sand box for the kids.

pro tip on buying wood, always put one side of the board on the ground and look down the length of it to see if its straight. Modern lumber can be cut so wet that it moves like a witches wand by the time we buy it.
