I’ve been working at aiea bowl for the past 2 years. Starting at front desk, going to mechanic and now I’m a manager. I’ve always wanted to see lanes being built. This is very satisfying

When I saw Festool being used I knew these guys take the quality of fit and finish seriously. Great job!

I rented rented an air-bnb for the weekend it was summer time 2016 in central Michigan. The guy had 2 Brunswick A2 Machines, wood lanes with lacquer surface we are talking old school style bowling. That host also had a framed signed autograph picture of Mark Roth and Marshall Holman on the wall playing doubles in a tournament. This was about 8 years ago near battle creek MI out in the woods. As a huge bowling fan and growing up in the late 70s early 80s, this air-bnb rental puts a very special place in my heart. For 2 nights the price was around 592 dollars, I think this was an excellent deal. A similar rental in Vegas with 2 Lanes would probably cost you 3-5 times more just for 1 night.

kind of expected people who would install a bowling alley in their house to be better bowlers

As an avid bowler I understand how some of you are upset these people are using house balls/shoes but I just looked at their website and the company gives you free equipment with the purchase of the lanes. So maybe it just got installed and they haven't bowled enough to actually buy a proper ball/shoes. Or they just rich as hell and don't care?

WOW. I fantasized about having a couple of lanes at home when I was a kid and was really into bowling. Btw...that family needs bowling lessons.

I worked at a bowling alley for 6 years. Just recently resigned because of better opportunity but didn’t work out. I was the head mechanic for 3 of those years. We had the same GSX machines and I know them like the back of my hand. This is the first time I’ve ever seen a pair installed anywhere. None of us mechanics got a proper training except when I trained people, I trained them how we should have been trained, every detail, pictures of part blow outs, machine blow outs, belts, every little thing just to make sure my employees knew everything I knew. And so they didn’t get hurt or anything, that is the very very very last thing I wanted. I don’t boast about myself or talk about myself in any way usually but I will say I was the best damn employee in that building, and mechanic. Building maintenance, I will say some of those machines problems were such a pain in the ass but I would rather work on these instead of the 8200’s machines.

If i had one at my house i’d get an above ground ball return, just cuz i think it looks cool or a clear top to the return with lights. That would be the coolest thing in my opinion.

I installed a ping pong table in my house. Loads of fun. $299 plus tax.

This year we see the installation process. And next year we'll see the uninstallation process.

I visited their website to check my hunch about the pin-setting machine, it requires 3 phase electric power . Which is common for commercial installations like a bowling alley, however very seldom in a residential home. Thus a solid state phase converter is installed, for additional "hot conductor" Some homes do have 3 phase in areas with larger commercial A/C units or farms where a lot of motors are used.

I'd save up to have a small house with a 2 lane alley if i could. Would throw real balls and actually oil the lanes.
