The only other company that's good for promoting girl groups besides JYP is HYBE. YG would rather debut his own girl group taking 7+ years each. Meanwhile SM absolutely sucks at promoting girl groups ever since FX.

The reason why they wanted to debut faster is because they competed with Stray kids to debut. It was a show of some sort (I think) where both groups went through a lot of dance and vocal shows to determine who debuts. Stray kids won and debuted first, so I'm assuming after Itzy lost, they decided to make plans to leave or debut faster under another agency

This is because when it came time to debut a new group, JYP held a competition between SKZ and ITZY (in the SKZ survival show first episode) and found SKZ to be more prepared for debut than ITZY. They only had to wait one more year :)
