I have two family members who tell lies. It's part of an inherited emotional disorder. It's been very, very hard to trust her. When she isn't telling lies to garner sympathy for herself, she is telling lies to make other folks look terrible. There is hope, though. She hasn't confessed the truth about particular lies, but she has started saying, "You know what? Ignore that. Sorry about that. etc." If this lady on Dr. Phil really does have impulse control issues, she can just admit to the truth about blurting her lies. Yet, she takes deception to a whole new level. I feel she's only appearing on the show to avoid legal issues, plus she's been cornered. Does she hate that she lies, or does she hate being caught even more?

She needs help. It should be noted that she is not denying her wrongdoings, nor is she transferring blame. It may not be an equal measure to her behavior, but she's allowed herself to be piled on by these people in a very public forum, essentially exposing herself for all the world. It's hard to feel sympathy for someone who has done the things she's done, but I really hope she gets help. No one should feel so worthless that they have to lie to have a life.
