Like everyone else is saying. Thanks for the detailed filing videos. I learn something new from every single one of these videos you make. It’s helped me a lot. Your videos are the only reason I can even sharpen an old saw and cut!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, your filing tutorials REALLY helped me out, seriously. I never get tired of these hand filing videos, keep it up and much love from the UK.

Love the demonstration and explanation. Also the simplicity of just the file and no guides. Other than for the rakers. Thank you also Buckin for the demo on semi chisel chain. AWESOME. Love ya brother. 🌲❤️🌲👊🪓

Even though I have watched UMPTEEN videos on you sharpening chains I am always enthralled by your ability to quickly sharpen a beat up chain.
And in watching I have learned to sharpen my chains as well.
So much so that I find myself using a hand file more than I do my Oregon grinder.
Thanks Buckin'!

This was so helpful. I've been felling and cutting my own firewood now for over 15 years. My first saw was a brand new MS250 with a blown piston that someone had at the end of their driveway to be thrown out (ran it without oil I guess). I learned a lot rebuilding that sucker! But I never had a good teacher on sharpening and have had to learn what I could on my own, but I've always felt handicapped by the stupid Stihl sharpening jig. As a woodworker that uses hand tools, sharpening is a huge part of my work, so see this was really an "ah ha!" For me to watch you do it this way. Now I can take my saw sharpening to another level. Thanks, Billy! You're a truly kind and generous soul! You videos are so uplifting and inspiring.

I am just starting to sharpen my own chains and this guy seems to have the best videos and being new to this, I couldnt figure why some guys were so adamant about counting strokes and having teeth all the same size...it didn't make sense to me. All we're looking to do is sharpen the tooth right? So that why I'm here. Billy seems to know his stuff and his videos are helping alot of guys and dispelling some bad techniques from guys teaching bad or pointless techniques. This is the guy I'm choosing to take my saw advice from hands down. I just use my saws around the property and to cut some occasional firewood. It's nice to not have to pay to have my chains sharpened or buying new ones. I dont saw much but this is nice to know for sure. Thanks Billy

Thank you I’ve been cutting firewood for a few years now and after watching this video I’m itching to get out to the woods again!! I went from filing with too small of a file and “C’s” to “gettin’ the gullet” and having nice ski jumps…don’t worry, I followed up with my raker gauge and got those dialed in!!! Thanks a million!!!!

You deserve a handshake and a hug! Been watching your videos for quite a long time already and you taught me how to hand file round. I learned what square ground chain was from you, learned to square file a year ago and now bought a simington grinder a week ago. AMAZING everything you do! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

Thank you again for sharing stuff with us. So many “experts” out there that should really just not speak on these subjects.
Thanks for being the real deal. 😉

Absolutely beautiful video in so many ways! The camera work was exquisite, and I could actually see the metal filings exiting as you pushed the file!
I still remember some of the very earliest videos you did on filing technique, and I remember so much of what you were teaching then. I have learned to listen to the sound of the file as it cuts. I remember you talking about how with the first few passes, the file typically sounds very rough and bumpy, but at the end it's almost a whisper! Great teaching as always!
Love you all...❤️❤️❤️

There is great pleasure having a chain razor sharp, right down to the wear limit line. Great maintenance pays you back by giving you a big smile on your face. I live on the other side of the world to you Billy, in the uk, but I can’t argue with anything you say, keep it up, and thank you. 😘

Absolutely love your channel Bill..
I'm 60 and have found my peace cutting and bucking.
Even quit drinking. My happy place is cutting big hardwoods and bucking and splitting..
Thank you for all you do
