this was super hard to fit in 60 secs and i wanted to say more since this is a pretty disputed area, but based on google search trends and youtube trends i think this is pretty accurate.
if i had to rank events in order of importantness it would be
1: pewdiepie lets play
2: minecraft monday / technoblade
3: fortnite dying / minecraft > fn memes
4: SMP Live
5: Philza hardcore loss
6: Other YTers jumping on the trend
It's kinda hard to rank tho since you could argue some of the more important ones wouldn't have happened if it weren't for the lower ones
