If your dog did that to an officer if would have been shot to death on the spot.

Funny how when police or their affiliates have mishaps, it an “accident” but when civilians have mishaps, it’s always a “crime.”

Suing the citizens to pay for the cops bad behavior is insane.

These cops need to become liable not the citizens.

An accident huh? Interesting..
When it's a civilians dog it's never called an accident and more often than not the dog is either taken or put down, in some cases right then and there.
So, it's good to know that only law enforcement can "make mistakes" or have "accidents happen".

Wait a minute, rather than getting an apology after almost losing his son the cops ask him "How's the family?".
That's just wrong on many levels.

This is why keeping attack dogs is a stupid idea; *there is no "safety switch" if the dog bites the wrong person.*

This is why so many are against cops having Qualified Immunity and K9 units because not only do they get false hits but they are also unpredictable no matter how much training they were given.

Why do they bring police dogs to these family events. Our town had a grand opening of a pet shop. Flyer said "bring your dog for fun prizes and pictures with Blitz, the Seattle Seahawks mascot" I did. There were well behaved dogs everywhere. Not one incident happened between any of these fur babies while i was there. But the local police came with their police dog in uniform. When we walked by, their dog attacked my dog. My dog, a basset, just fell over like a goat does when it's scared. Even after this they (cops) still allowed their dog to stay at this event. Thanks for taking the time to read my rant.

If you’re trying to endear yourself to the community, this does not help your cause.

Automatic lawsuit. Probably that's why they haven't apologized. It would of been an admission of guilt in their part.

I can bet if someone shot the k9 they would be charged, no kind of accident there

This is NOT A TIME to brush off with “accidents happen; don’t cry over spilt milk”

I hope the family sues. Those K-9 units are NOT like family dogs. Their minds have been ruined by conditioning and they are obviously unsafe.

Yea and people always give me bad looks when I quickly put myself in between their dog and my kid. At any point someone’s dog may snap and bite my kid. Trust me! I owned A dog many years ago and he also snapped… and he was EXTREMELY friendly as many would say.

Police code is to show no remorse for nothing they do regarding human life. These people are sick.

In some states when a dog bites someone the dog is sometimes put down.. Also, isn't this police brutality? The dog is technically a police officer.

This is why you don't go to police events.
This is why you avoid the police as much as you can.

I am glad the child is so happy. I feel so bad that he had to go through all that.

I'm surprised they didn't arrest the kid for "obstruction" and "resisting arrest".
