Σε Πάτερ κόσμων, Πάτερ αιώνων, μέλπωμεν ομού, πάσαι τε Θεού λογισμοί δούλοι. Όσα κόσμος έχει προς επουρανίων αγίων σελαων πρυτανήσω σιγάτω μηδ’ άστρα φαεσφόρα λαμπέσθων απολειόντων ριπαί πνοίων, πηγαί ποταμών ροθιων πάσαι, υμνούντων δ’ ημών Πατέρα χυιόν, χαγιον πνεύμα πάσαι δυνάμεις επιφωνούντων αμήν αμήν. κράτος, αίνος αεί και δόξα Θεώ σωτήρι μόνω πάντων αγαθών, αμήν αμήν

To thee Father of the world, eternal Father, let us, the chosen servants of God, chant together. Let the light which reaches the world from the heavenly stars that You rule, go dark. And let the bright stars not shine, the gusts of wind cease, and the springs of rushing rivers. And as we praise the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, let all the powers exclaim: Amen, amen. Power, praise, everlasting glory to God, the only Savior, Giver of all good things. Amen. Amen.

A ti, Padre del mundo, Padre eterno, cantemos los siervos escogidos de Dios. Deja que la luz que llega al mundo de las estrellas celestiales que Tú gobiernas, se oscurezca. Y no brillen las estrellas, cesen las ráfagas de viento y las fuentes torrenciales de los ríos . Alabamos al Padre, al Hijo y al Espíritu Santo, todos los poderes exclaman: Amén, amén. Poder, alabanza, gloria eterna a Dios, el único Salvador, Dador de todo bien. Amén. Amén.

Este himno fue descubierto en los Papiros de Oxirrinco en el año 1897 se piensa que fue escrito a finales del siglo III. Junto al himno Luz Radiante en griego Φως Ιλαρόν son los himnos Cristianos mas antiguos que existen.
