Incredible Metal Detector Finds

Lots of amazing and unbelievable discoveries have been made by metal detectors. Lets look at some of the most amazing metal detector finds ever!

Back in the 70's our family went camping on an island in Long Island Sound. I found a penny on the beach and put it in my pocket. A few days later while back at home I looked at the penny. It was an 1865 penny. I looked up it's value in a coin book and it was worth about a penny.

I found the earth while i was metal detecting and sold it for 0 dollars.

I found a twenty dollar bill the other day. I was working and had to cross a lawn at an apt complex. Almost immediately I found the twenty partially rolled up. No one in the vicinity so I kept it.

I found a King John hoard in a snow storm 1st February 2009 30 silver coins dating around 1205 AD and put on display in Beverley Treasure House museum England.

I've just purchased my very first detector and am looking forward to starting my searches. I live in Arizona where there are a lot of abandoned mines, WWII airfields, and ghost towns. I'm hoping to have some luck, but wish I could cruise the English countryside for sure.

The UK may be a great place for metal detectors because of our history but part of our history is World War 2, the reason I'm saying this is because in areas in and around London you may accidentally come across an unexploded German bomb. This isn't as uncommon as you might think, so be careful when metal detecting in and around London

I think one of the best things I found while visiting my family in Mississippi I found a sort of token use in the 1800 but it wasn’t worth much and in Texas I found a sacagewia coin

i once metal detected a fish fossil and was so confused, figuring the fossil had metal deposits somewhere. It was only a few years later when my niece backed up into the shelf knocking it and many others over, that I discovered the damaged stomach area of the fossil gleaming with something in the newly exposed cavity - a golden nugget. which i should have left and sold with the fossil together for higher value :( but i was so excited we pulled it out, tested it, and weighed it. 2.3g. I have weird dreams of finding gold in funny places ever since.
