Missed Free Throws, Turnovers Doom Golden State Warriors In 2nd Loss To Los Angeles Clippers

The Golden State Warriors turned the ball over 19 times and had a dismal 9-for-19 performance from the free-throw line in 102-99 loss to the Clippers. Jonathan Kuminga's limited playing time sparked debate, as his potential impact was left untapped. Meanwhile, Norman Powell's clutch three-pointers for the Clippers sealed the Warriors' fate, despite a late run from the Warriors to give Golden State a chance at the buzzer.

I agree with you Matt 100%. Steve Kerr’s handling of JK has been deplorable! JK has more upside potential than all the young guys on this team by 100 miles. Yet Kerr continues to mismanage him by limiting his minutes and giving minutes to guys that should not be getting them. The best thing that could happen to JK is he gets traded to a team that will value him and let him play 30 minutes a game.

Defense has always been our calling card in championship seasons. We lost due to too many turnovers and poor free throw shooting.

Cleaning up the sloppiness needs to start with Curry and Draymond - too loose with the ball, too many mental lapses and ill advised passes. Kerr needs to get on both their asses when they play that way to send the message to the rest of the team.

Steve Kerr has found his new Lamb & his name is L. Waters lll. How does Waters go from being a OKC outcast to starting and finishing games with the Warriors while playing more minutes than Kuminga on a good night for him. Madness by Kerr.

First off, Matt's right. They flat-out suched on free throws. Lindy needs to be more aggressive. It looks like he is waiting for permission to shoot. Lindy needs to be more like Buddy. They also let Powl have wide open shots.

I’m reading the comments everybody say jk is a horrible defender that maybe true, but how is he suppose to learn if Kerr consistently taking minutes from him?? Jk has also been a factor of them starting out hot the way they have. Plus you guys forget he came in the clutch against the rockets which proves he does have the capability of being player that needs to close games.

Steve Kerr always is involved in every loss.

Wiggs looked uninterested and as usual disappeared for sections of the game. How he gets 29m to JK’s 19m is beyond me. Kerr loves him and I am sick of seeing his fav’s. I agree 💯 with Kolsky.

We just play too much help defense leaving shooters open

Turnovers and missing free thriws are why the Warriors lost.

Ha, ha! Thank you, Kolsky! Everyone keeps telling me how great Wiggins is, but I don’t see it. I see it in his past play, but none of what I see currently confirms that he’s playing great defense now.

The Warriors shooting was off in the beginning, but got going in the third and tied the game. At one point, both teams were missing. The Warriors could have won this game. The Clippers did not dominate.

The terrible free throw shooting is insane.

The incessant negative commentary about Wiggs and claiming Kuminga is Wigg's defensive equal is embarrassing.

The Kuminga rant was head scratching. He had a hard time guarding any action tonight, doesn't box out on rebounds, missed the most fts, and had his own out of control turnovers. Wiggs was brillant on D, but as usual, left points on the table at the rim. Dray had 4 unforced turnovers that lead to 7 points.
What killed the team outside of turnovers and missed fts was how they guarded Powell. Every 3 he took was wide open off of over help. But... this is now 2 games they have lost to the clips and what sticks out the most are the 28 missed fts when they lost both games by a combined score of 10 points.

Wiggins is a way better defender than JK right now

I want to see some TJD play center over green at the 4th. TJD, Kuminga, Wiggins closing .

You should be ashamed of yourself as a pro in this league in this era and not being able to make 90% freethrows. If you can’t make at least 50% then what are even doing here?

They all need to figure this out and fast.
