One advantage of the bare bulb versus either of the two heads for the AD200, is that you may get less of a hotspot since the light is less direction and spreads (as you mentioned) in the softbox. I wouild not consider these two to be equal obviously and if you're choosing one, one isn't necessarily "better" than the other, as it will depend on what you're doing. The AD100 may be better for travel but the 200(Pro) may be better if you have a lot of light modifiers (As not all soft boxes can take a round head, although they should accept a bare bulb, but not necessarily a round head -- of you'll need a special flash head bracket for a round head). It should be noted that the rectangular head on the AD200 tends to produce a cooler light, but I think the round head has a slightly different color to it, perhaps a bit warmer but I'd have to test -- I just remember the rectangular head was cooler in my initial tests).
