We are spoilt for choice these days with the many great video tools at our disposal. Here's my thoughts on what I think of the differences between the slider and the gimbal and if the gimbal still has a place in shooting real estate style videos in 2019.

Love these videos on real estate videography. Thank you for posting. I am a Realtor in Las Vegas and do a lot of home tours. (some resales but mostly new builds). I use my Ronin S for everything due to the fact that I do a full walk through of every room in sequence with no edits. My slider has been in the closet quite a while now. I do agree the slider is great for the "beauty shots" especially when one wants to zoom in to create Bokeh...Great videos. Thanks again for posting,

Good stuff. I agree with your views about gimbals and sliders as the beautiful video examples provided plus your reasoning for each job type give a solid back up to your work procedures. Valuable, real world knowledge. Thanks.

I am really glad I found this channel!

Considering how smooth and well framed your gimbal push shots are, id say youd be able to shoot any style with just the gimbal!

Thanks Grant! As always, it's a very helpful video. I was about to purchase a slider or gimbal but now may have to consider getting both. Keep the videos coming!

Mate your content is gold thank you for sharing it. I’ll buy your course once I get my camera and a little further along my learning. Fello kiwi over the ditch.

I use both as well. But I do tend to stick to a wide shot. Its funny how you forget about the simple things. That tip alone was worth the price of admission. I also added a Segway mini to my arsenal and absolutely love using it with my gimbal. I have a bit of a limp so trying to get a smooth shot with a gibal while walking is a bit of a challenge. Not with the Segway Mini though. :)

Great video~~ what gear do u recommend for 2021? I have a wee bills 2 gimbal + canon r6 + 16 35 f4. Thinking to buy a video tripod + slider. Any recommendations for real estate ? Just feel like the slider look is more professional than gimbal:) and I can change different lens easily on slider

I have the 42 inch carbon fiber slider and and even though I don't use all of it, I still need a way to support the ends. A tripod is too cumbersome. The method I am using attaches to my tripod legs, but the problem is when I need to raise or lower the camera for the next shot too many micro adjustments are needed because my support method does attach to the legs of my tripod. Can you suggest a simpler solution? Maybe a monopod that can attach at each end and just drop to the ground for support. I think it would have to swing freely during shot relocation so as not to risk damaged during tripod movement. Thanks.

Hello Grant!
Hope you can help..
i am starting to do property walk-throughs for my letting agency company in the UK
i am about to purchase a Sony A6400 with Sony 10-18mm lens and attach it to the DJI Ronin S
Do you think this would be a good set up? i have done lots of research but this seems to be an ok price as i am on a budget!
any suggestions or weaknesses you can see in that set up would be appreciated.
Many thanks!

great video - do you think a mechanical gimbal is essential - how easy is it to get a smooth shot with a normal one? ie looked at your example but that one isn't available anymore

Hi Grant appreciate the time, effort and thought that goes into your reviews and how to videos. I use a GH 5 (8-18 & 12-60) Ronin S I'm just about to start using sliders awaiting delivery of the unique Edelkrone system have you encountered or used these? The Focus module requires a manual lens... What might you recommend to use in conjunction with the GH5 keeping in mind it would be mostly indoor use for real estate videos? Thanks!

Thanks for the video! What is the minimum length of slider you'd recommend? Since most shots are only a few seconds I'm guessing you could get away with a smaller size?

In my area it seems video is not very popular as the majority of homes sellers and agents are only interested in photos including some drone. As of last check which was about 6 months ago the Oklahom MLS did not allow video. Youtube is obviously a format of choice for some and I've seen a few creators who use their own channel to help others market a property using video including aerial. Will you please offer more insight about how video is most used and which platforms they are uploading it to. Thank you
