That fruit is called "bauno" or wild mango. It's taste is nowhere near colgate and bacon. When ripe, that fruit is sweet and a little sour. It is best eaten with a little bit of salt.

Wani/kuanyi fruit is called in Kalimantan. The tree can grow to more than 20 meters in height. It bears seasonal fruit and you have to wait decades from the start of planting until it bears fruit. Hunting for this fruit in the forest is not difficult because the trees are big. Here we don't pick the fruit on the tree, we just wait. the fruit falls from the tree. After all, who wants to climb a 20 meter high tree.

We call that apple mango when I was a kid. Don't know if it's technically correct. Hard to eat when it's unripe so different from other mango. Edible when it's ripe but still far from other mangoes.😊
