I have HLA-B27 sensorineural hearing loss. I’ve had hearing loss since my teenage years. I am on a biologic (Enbrel) and methotrexate injections. These have helped a lot. My concern is my daughter experiencing it as well. She is speech delayed and while she can hear normal conversation using both ears- she has to go back when she’s older for ear specific testing. She will also be tested for HLA B27 as well, so they can treat her with prednisone until she’s older. Steroids have their own issues though, I’m hoping she does not have the same problems I do.

Can anyone help advise me ? I had the Pfizer on 12th May and had screaming tinnitus in my left ear the next day this went on 4 weeks then moved to my right ear too, it has been 7 weeks and the tinnitus has destroyed me. I don't notice any obvious hearing loss and I am within normal limits on a audiogram. Can this still be AIED ? Or does there have to be 20db+ loss of hearing ? I am 42. Some doctors think it could be neuroinflamation, but isn't that the same ? I am confused.
