Lisa Bluder on Caitlin Clark not making the USA Olympic team

Good take by Bluder. She's able to support Clark and voice relative frustration without disrespecting girls on the current roster. She also addressed the very important impact on the future team having zero under 26. That will make the youngest returning player 30 years old next time around in LA.

You can see where Bluder has helped Clark become professional that she is. She helps her players grow into adulthood. The portal that allows a lot of movement and as a result if they make the wrong move hinders their growth and maturity.

Her being the all time leading scorer in the history of the NCAA men's or women's programs alone should have gotten her on that team and that was before the chartered flights, attendance records and sensational logo threes!

Considering the marketing impact and overall revenue loss (both in jersey & product sales and viewership), Team USA should have included Caitlin Clark. She’s no pushover, and her presence could have further elevated the WNBA effect. USA will win gold with CC not even playing a min same as the any 12th spot but for sure will lose a lot of $$$ without CC.

For clarification sake, the US hasn’t lost an Olympics game since ‘92. It has lost at the World Championships/World Cup at least twice since then (1994 & 2010-ish off the dome).

But with no Russia/Soviet Union, no Hortencia & Magic Paula, no Cuba or Yugoslavia to worry about, Team USA isn’t likely to lose anywhere anytime soon.

wnba cares about now but not about CC. Only the Olypmpic team, but 2vplsyers coming g off injuries within days and a 3rd player nowhere near the topic the league now. There are 4 Aces with one hurt or not playing. There are 3 Mercury with one hurt and had only played one game recently. One of the players is low in stats in the the league. Makes me wonder if bonuses are involved in their contracts. 2 Liberty. One Sun, one Lynx, and one Storm. Taursi is 42 and not at the top of the of her game or league. There are several other players deserving even b4 you get to the CC universe. I have heardcit said that CC off the team, which hurts the Paris revenues, and of course, Team USA and WNBA Olypmpic merch.Caitlin should not play and get her rest.
